I'm not really a fan of high fructose corn syrup in my tomato soup but I certainly like the taste of Campbell's. I made this soup and hoped it would taste like Campbell's because, after all, isn't that what tomato soup is supposed to taste like? This soup did not taste exactly like it came out of the can but tasted quite possibly even better.
I modified the recipe slightly. I am not into super thick and creamy soups so I used skim milk and doubled up on the tomatoes (unintentionally the 1st time it but it was so good I did it the same way the 2nd time). I used ww flour the 2nd time (I didn't want to grind flour for just 2Tbsp. the soup called for the 1st time I made it) and didn't notice any taste difference. 1st time I used "normal" canned tomatoes, 2nd time used organic Muir Glen tomatoes - didn't notice a difference on that either.
For those who haven't seen this commercial for high fructose corn syrup it might be worth a watch... maybe.
