don't eat this at home or anywhere else

project: homemade liquid laundry detergent

I had been using some homemade powdered detergent out of the same ingredients that I liked. The liquid detergent is supposed to be even more cost effective so... sounds good to me!! It was super easy to make and so far seems to work just fine and dandy.

I used this "recipe" which was a smaller recipe than many I saw online. It makes 2 gallons as opposed to one I saw that made 10 gallons worth of soap.

supplies I used:

notice: WASHING soda not baking soda.
I found this at Fry's (I could not find it at my Walmart)
some sort of container
and there it is!

reports are that this detergent costs you about $.01 a load of laundry!

Wow! You are so ambitious! Tell me how it works. What does it smell like? :) Just curious.

I bet you could add essential oils and make it smell nice! I love tea tree and lavender.

thanks Kirsten. It really doesn't small like much - - a little hint of the zote bar maybe but barely. I have not used essential oils but they seem to be popular in scenting homemade house goods. where do you get those Luanne?
